Event Review – Dreamscape XI
The Sanctuary, Milton Keynes – 1st July 1994
Regarding the excessive heat in The Sanctuary, Murray Beetson,
promoter of Dreamscape, has taken steps to ensure that this
situation does not occur again. The photographer that was also
present on the night, and spent time with the Dreamscape team behind
the scenes, would like to congratulate them for coping with a
difficult situation extremely well. He would also like to point out
that although the venue was hot, it had been transformed to the
normal high standard that Dreamscape are well known for, as always
an impressive stage and production, quality sound system and of
course the usual mix of music to hopefully please everyone. Now we
hand you over to our correspondent on the night, Marc Jeffrey, for
his review from the dance floor.
This months mission took me up to Dreamscape XL – The Pinch And The
Punch (whatever that means), where a good night was had by nearly
all. Then I came home, undressed into the washing machine, had a
bath and smoked myself cross eyed. The end. Thank you for reading….
Oh. You want me to blab on about how good the likes of Ellis Dee,
Hype, Dougal, Sy, Fabio and the ‘Rider etc. were. Well ask yourself,
would we keep seeing these guys if they were no good? Take it from
me, the boys played their testes away and every one danced
accordingly.
Security seemed friendly enough, politely and efficiently
unburdening me of my stash of chewing gum.
I didn’t make it to the venue until gone midnight, but was greeted
by a hard, fast headfuck teckie from Clarkee, giving it his all.
Normally I would have been in my element, but it was too early in
the evening for me. Yeah, I know, serves me right for getting in
late. Point taken.
Now for the darkside. People were dropping like flies. Why does it
have to be this way? £1.50 for a poxy bottle of water with no chance
to refill unless wishing to chance dodgy guts by standing in the
toilets for ten minutes filling up from the very slow trickle of the
hot tap. Halfway through the night and the main room was a sea of
sweat, gut droppings and collapsed bodies. Best of luck to you if
you needed the First Air room.
